F&C Sewing ~ Eco-Friendly Makeup Pads *Giveaway*

Many of you know that I’m happily pursuing having a more sustainable life, one step at a time. ^_^ A large part of sustainability depends on using washable and reusable things in place of disposables so we’ve been reducing the amount of paper napkins, disposable diapers and menstrual pads, baby wipes, and other things that our family uses. Not only are reusables kinder to the environment, but using them also makes life a little more affordable, which is great because we only have one income and saving money is important to us.

Recently, I found out about yet another great product that reduces waste, fills a need, and just happens to be super cute! Cloth makeup pads, yep, ditch the disposable makeup rounds!

These cuties are from the shop, FandC Sewing, and are perfect for applying toner, astringent, moisturizer, and lotion. They measure 2.5 x 2.5″ and are made of terry cloth on one side and pretty soft fabric on the other, so they’re perfect for the face.

I use them to remove eye makeup before bed, and my teenage daughter, Maggie, removes her foundation and concealer with them. She loves how small and pretty they are. You can read her thoughts on them on her blog, Dreaming of Guatemala. :)FandC Sewing’s shop owner, Misty, makes all things lovely and eco-friendly, her shop is truly inspiring! She has cloth napkins, unpaper towels, dish sponges, and more. Everything is reasonably priced which is awesome because we need to be switching to these things and it shouldn’t be expensive to do so! Amiright?

      1. Just checked out her site, and I think her product line is so functional and the patterns are adorable! I especially like the kid’s reusable napkins; that’s the only non-reusable thing in my son’s lunchbox so I may have to get a few :-)

  1. Very cool! I don’t use makeup remover, but I do use cotton pads with astringent, especially in summer. Sure, enter me! I was browsing her shop and really am amazed at everything she makes! I want to buy the swiffer cloths. Wow! Do you happen to use reusable Swiffer cloths, either hers or your homemade ones? Do they work well with the dry mop?

    1. I know, her stuff is great!!
Yes! I use a reusable Swiffer pad (from a different Etsy shop that I found a few years ago) and I love it. :) I spray the floor with my own cleaner and then use the Swiffer as a mop; I don’t have the dry variety.
I’ve got you down for two entries, good luck!

  2. Sucks I’m not in USA but I have to say these are a great idea. We are going down to one wage soon and with a child with additional needs live in not cheap. Will definately look for a U.K. Store. Thanks for the idea :) x
