* * *

What a weird week. I felt like I was back in the early postpartum days for much of it because of the abdominal soreness, tenderness, and then bleeding. And breastfeeding wasn’t much fun as I started having a fair amount of discomfort beginning on Thursday. Ahh, hormones. It was discouraging but hey, at least I ate really well! lol My weight stayed exactly the same (129lbs). I didn’t exercise except for what naturally happened in real life, which is really all I could manage and that’s okay. I’m disappointed in the amount of water I got in, though, so I’m going to really focus on that as I head into this week.

Thanks for reading!

What do you do when hormones are crazy? Are you good about resting and taking care of yourself?

  1. I’m horrible about resting and taking care of myself lol! My hormones are all out of whack (part of the reason for my miscarriages, I found out recently), but I am anticipating change with our recent diet change. Hopefully lol.
I love your meal plans and ideas!
One of my goals is also to increase my water intake-since I moved from Arizona to Idaho, I don’t drink as much water (I used to guzzle it back home), so I know that plays a role in how I feel. Now I just need to do it. 😖

    1. Don’t hormones drive you crazy?! I truly wish they were just the same all the time, BUT I realize that would end a host of things, such as pregnancy, sex drive, breastfeeding, etc. LOL *sigh*
Thanks, I’m proud of myself for focusing on myself (haha) since I really don’t normally! My body is certainly appreciative of having a more balanced diet. Now, just to get in more water!! I actually drank all eight glasses yesterday, though – yay, me!
I didn’t realize you were in Idaho! What is it like? Climate, landscape, etc? I’ve never known anyone from there so I know little about it. :)

      1. lol I agree about the hormones!
And it’s so hard to get in that water lol…I started marking it in my planner to kind of help. 🙈
We’re in southeast Idaho, which isn’t the most gorgeous part, but I have some small-ish mountains at least! (I love mountains!)
It’s basically a high desert, so like northern Arizona, which I grew up visiting frequently. It’s cold and snowy and icy in the winter, but gorgeous in the summer! And dry…lol I can’t handle humidity!

  2. Sorry to hear about your hormones being out of whack. I had some light spotting on a couple of days too last week which was weird. Playing with the kids, going to the zoo, that definitely counts as exercise though, they keep us active, don’t they? It’s difficult to take care of ourselves between the kids and the household to manage, sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don’t.

    1. Yes, I was glad to have enjoyed the physical activity that happened naturally just by doing fun things with the kids! :) Ugh, postpartum/breastfeeding hormones are no fun sometimes! :P I’ve been having spotting at weird times since my first PP period at five months, but I actually had full-on bleeding four days after my period ended this time. ??? Weird!

  3. Phew! It’s really hard to focus on things like eating well and drinking a lot of water when you’re feeling funky. Hormones really mess us up in ways that we find it hard to explain to others and maybe can’t even pinpoint. We just feel “off,” right? I’m sorry you had a tough feeling week. I think you did great for the disruption!

I would’ve eaten a lot of chocolate – somehow, any way I could – so you did great compared to me, haha! When I feel off I usually just continue as normal otherwise .. because I have to. :/

    1. Haha, thanks. ;) I usually crave chocolate when I’m approaching a regular period (so cliché, right?!) When I’m having other, strange hormonal issues, I don’t really notice any dietary differences but I definitely don’t want to exercise! :P
Yep, we have to do most everything the same as moms, don’t we? No matter how we’re feeling.

  4. Ugh, hormones can be so unpredictable! I started a new BC in early Fall because the previous one I was taking was giving me awful headaches and now the new one I’m on has caused me to gain some weight. I’m starting to consider some other options as I’m about to hit 35, next month.
I also liked how you tracked your food/feelings. I need to get back to doing that.

    1. Yeah, hormones….necessary evils, right? :P I hope you find another b/c option that doesn’t have side effects. :)
Turns out that my hormonal issues have been because I am (or was) pregnant. I tested this morning and got a faint positive. *sigh* So unexpected!
