Thoughts & Happenings 05/11/17

Elizabeth had her first afternoon in the little pool yesterday and she loved it! She gets really excited every time she has a bath so it wasn’t surprising how she reacted to the pool. Her favorite activity in it, after exploring new toys, was chewing on the side of it (see second picture, lol).

I’m happy to say that sleep training is going well, and much better than I had thought it would. I can put her down for a nap or bedtime and she is out in under five minutes almost every time. I stand or sit next to the crib and usually put one hand on her chest or tummy. She doesn’t even try to get up, she seems to have accepted that the crib is for sleeping. Yay!

I’m feeling really good. I’ve been doing Pilates almost every evening and drinking more water than I was before. I’ve also completely recovered from the miscarriage and d&c. 😊 I think I ovulated last weekend, which means my body is getting back to normal. I’m happy to have all the medical stuff behind me, not only because it was stressful but also because I can enjoy exercise again.

Speaking of exercise, I took the kids to a park on Tuesday afternoon and we enjoyed walking and riding a paved trail through the woods. The weather was fantastic and most of the time we were in the shade of the trees with a gentle breeze cooling us. 😍

So, I’ve decided to stop blogging for a while. It makes me a little bit sad, but I’ve got some things that I must do this summer which are going to take all of my extra time. I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I hope to catch up with all of you when I do! I may pop back in occasionally to do my Day in the Life posts but not much else, I’m afraid.

Have a wonderful summer!! 🌴☀🐳

  2. I didn’t believe you about Elizabeth chewing on the pool for a second and then I saw the picture and laughed really hard! 😂 It was somehow so unexpected despite the warning!
Enjoy your well deserved break! I’m going to miss you!

    1. Hahaha, oh, it’s true! She puts everything in her mouth (so we have to be really watchful!!)
Thank you! 😊 I’ll miss you, too! I’ve just gotta get offline even though I’d really rather not (lol). Have a great summer! 💕

    1. I wish I could do everything and stay online but I’ve just got to put this on hold for right now and focus my time elsewhere. 😊 Thank you, same to you! I hope unschooling goes well! 💕

  3. I try to do daily stretching, though I’m not always consistent. I notice the more I stretch the better I feel. I love paved trails, especially ones that travel through trees. It’s nice to take a break, and I wish you well. :)

    1. That’s great! I’ve always been really weird about stretching. I love it when I do it but the IDEA of stretching annoys me, like it’s wasted energy (which it, of course, is NOT!)
      Thank you. :)

  4. I could just eat little Elizabeth up with a spoon!!! Sad to hear you won’t be posting as much but it is summer, and everyone understands you have things to do. BUT it will give you time to have some great blog posts when you do get back to writing :) I’ll miss you and God Bless you, looking forward to the few posts you’ll be able to work in and to when you fully return :):)
