It feels lovely to know that we have nowhere to go on this rainy day. We spent most of the day out in the rain and dreariness yesterday so staying indoors is a welcome thing today.

After picking up Stephen from work yesterday (and letting the boys ride in daddy’s truck for a bit), we headed up to Atlanta and shopped at Trader Joe’s. I bought a lovely bouquet of flowers which are now on our dining room table. I love how cut flowers add color and life to a room. ^_^

So, I am fourteen weeks along today, which is quite hard to believe! Honestly, I still feel like it could end at any moment but I am hopeful that it won’t. I don’t want to fear miscarriage but it’s hard not to after what I’ve been through. I feel pretty good physically, although I did wake up with some aches and pains this morning (growing pains?) but nothing to worry about. I had a lot of round ligament pains with Elizabeth and I sure hope they’re less this time. I would appreciate more sleep at night but this season will pass and eventually I will be rested again.

I’m starting to have a little bump! You can’t see my c-section scar in this pic, but it is just below where my pajama pants are. I’m wondering if/how it will affect the appearance of my bump this time.

Oh! I have been enjoying a new veggie treat for the last few days. It’s just chopped cucumber and tomato with italian dressing drizzled on top but it is so yummy! I need some more ideas for easy veg snacks like this.

I have decided with certainty that my digital camera (by Canon) and phone camera (Nokia) are both poop. Yeah. They take such lousy photos!! The ones in this post were taken with my kids’ old iPhone 4s. I think it takes great pics! So, I’m now using it and I will likely be buying an iPhone for me when I need a new phone. I am tired of missing shots because the ones I get are action and have be trashed because they’re blurred. :(

Okay, I need a kick in my (pregnant) rear – tell me to exercise!! And what kind of workouts are you enjoying lately? I’m thinking of starting pilates again and also power walking. But I have to stop thinking and start DOING!

  1. I love those flowers!! When I was pregnant, I did Suzanne Bowen’s Slim and Toned Prenatal Barre DVD. I loved it. I even did it postpartum. When I was working out regularly (up until the kids were on summer break), I was lifting weights, but now I’m more about yoga.

      Hey, thanks. I’ll have to look for that workout at my library or online! I like yoga in theory but I much prefer aerobics and other fast moving exercises. :)

  2. Such pretty flowers! There are a few things I miss about America, one of them being Trader Joe’s. I have an iPhone 4s and it takes lousy pictures usually. I hope to get a new phone (not an iPhone, though, too much money!) before too long. I didn’t do any exercise when I was pregnant with Noah, but I know that Robin on The Balanced Life Online has a prenatal pilates series online. You can watch them on YouTube. :)

    1. I would definitely miss TJ’s, too! Their food is so great and also affordable. :)
      We got both our teens new iPhone 5s recently for $100 each online – we don’t buy the newest devices on the market EVER. Lol

  3. I am so glad your pregnancy is going well and I hope it continues as so. It’s such an exciting time. Your flowers are beautiful and bright. I love how simple things can brighten a room and your entire mood. I live in WI and have heard all the amazing things about Trader Joes but there is not one in or near the city I live in so can you believe I have never been to one. Sadly, I can say the same about IKEA. As far as workouts go, I took a little break from working out during my last pregnancy but take note for afterwards that Bikini Body Mommy and The IdealFit 15 day challenge are great starting points for shedding the extra baby weight, both are quick workouts too that you can certainly fit into a busy schedule. I just youtube them and I like that I can do them practically anywhere. Enjoy the rest of your day!

      I only started going to TJ’s a few years ago when I found out where it was in the city (we live in the suburbs). I absolutely love it! IKEA, on the other hand, I loathe! lol It is FAR too big, noisy, and busy for my taste. I went one time and that was enough!
      I ended up having an irritable uterus with my fourth baby and contracted almost non-stop every time I exercised so I couldn’t do it until I was about 36 weeks along and labor would be ok were it to start. :P This time, I hope that’s not the case because I would love to workout. Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll have to look those up!

  4. Those flowers are so pretty! I love your simple cucumber/tomato/Italian dressing combo. What a great way to get in some veggies! I’m normally a runner but with both pregnancies I’ve taken a break from running and opted for walking, using our elliptical machine in the basement, and doing online prenatal workouts (because they’re free!). I do several of the FitSugar Prenatal Work-outs on YouTube and I also like the Heidi Klum Prenatal Workout. They are mainly short 10 minute work-outs so I often combine them, but it’s also nice to have short go-to workouts for when I’m tired or short on time. The FitSugar ones do use free weights. I also like the 20 minute Prenatal Cardio Workout by BodyFit by Amy (no weights). Maybe this link will work for you >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khlJsJKuGKc Anyhow, all of those workouts aren’t as high impact or as intense as I’m used to when I’m not pregnant, but once my body heals from delivering this baby I plan to return to getting outdoors and running again! :)

    1. Ooh, I do wish we had an elliptical, I can’t use our stationary bike while prego – don’t know why but it’s super uncomfy. :/

  5. I’m living 30 minutes on my elliptical right now. It’s easy and it feels good. But I’ve always thought pregnancy Pilates or yoga would be awesome! I don’t know how to do either and I’ve yet to find a class near me so…. I guess I could get a DVD.

    1. I would love to own an elliptical! I used to use one at the gym all the time but those days (of leaving the house to workout) have been gone for awhile. :P I have some workouts on dvd that I like, though!

      1. I got mine really cheap open box. It’s the schwinn 430 and it’s actually a more challenging workout that the ones I used at the gym. It might be worth looking into if you think you’d enjoy it…

  6. What a cute bump! Yummy salad idea, too. Easy and fresh for summer! I did prenatal yoga last time and it was really good for me. I had ligament pain as well, but in my groin instead of round ligament pain, so I couldn’t do traditional workouts that had squats and lunges.

      Owwie, groin pain would not be fun. O_O I was stuck on the couch, on my side, for so many evenings of the second trimester from round ligament pain. I really hope that’s not the case this time or Elizabeth is likely to climb on me, lol!

  7. Glad to hear things are going well! I have a 10 Minute Solutions Prenatal Pilates DVD that I found on Amazon for maybe $2? I need to do it more but I’ve done it off and on. A veggie snack I loved early on was sliced cucumber with cheese slices. I don’t know why but it was so delicious!
