Yesterday, we went to a mall in Lawrenceville called Sugarloaf Mills, but for years it was called Discover Mills so that’s what we still call it. ;) Stephen stayed home and recovered from his long work week and I took the kids. The mall opens at noon so we left the house at about 11:30. We took our lunch and drinks with us, though we did decide to let Maggie and Joshua have some spending money since Stephen got a fair amount of overtime this week, and because it’s been so long since we’ve been there.
Elizabeth rode in her new carseat and despite how she appears in the above photo (lol), she actually really liked it. She was very curious about the whole thing and looked around with interest for the whole ride!
There is something so special about getting to park in this kind of spot, especially for a woman who’s gone through miscarriages and secondary infertility.
It makes me feel more pregnant, somehow!
Joshua was excited about getting to go to Dave & Buster’s (an arcade).
Maggie was just happy to get to go somewhere inside (not like last weekend when we melted in Macon’s heat and humidity!!) I let them go off together while I took the little kids to see what we could see. We had our phones on us but we decided on a time and meetup place just in case. And once we all went inside and went to the restroom, we separated.
We had a fun time! Samuel got to do slot car racing for the first time and Elizabeth enjoyed checking out (and touching) bamboo plants. They shared a hot fudge sundae, and Samuel had fun looking (NOT buying!) a cool Lego robot and riding an electronic car. And by the time we’d been there for three hours, Elizabeth was spent! She fell asleep before we even got out of the parking lot and slept the whole way home. ^_^
Our favorite part was visiting the Bass Pro Shop. Oh my, we’ve never been in one and it was impressive!! The store is HUGE and there are so many displays – you almost feel like you’re out in nature!
I ended up buying Samuel a cute wilderness shirt from Old Navy ($6) and two maternity shirts for me from Motherhood Maternity ($8 each). I was tempted to go to Gymboree, Carter’s and The Children’s Place for Elizabeth but she doesn’t need anything and I resisted! lol
It was a fun time and I’m glad we went. I was exhausted in the evening and I regretted not having made dinner already, like I’d planned, but I fixed tacos pretty quickly and then ate and relaxed. I was up over and over in the night with Elizabeth (we’re night weaning….more on that soon!) but hey, tomorrow is another day, right?
