Pregnancy after D&C | Baby #5 | It’s a…

We have been waiting anxiously since June for this day. Since the moment that we found out that I was miraculously pregnant so soon after my miscarriage (and the d&c which helped my body to complete it). We have been waiting.

Will it be a boy or a girl?

Who will complete our family this winter?

Well, this morning we had our anatomy scan and the little cutie looks fantastic! At first, the baby’s position made it impossible to tell what the gender is so the technician went ahead and took measurements of everything she needed. When she was finished, she went back to see if she could get a better look, and thankfully the little one cooperated!

It turns out that my last baby will be another darling, sweet GIRL!!! :D

I am so surprised! I mean, part of me thought maybe it was (and I even had a dream a few nights ago that it was a girl) but for some reason I thought that it had to be a boy because I just wasn’t as sick this time, which I always am with girls. Of course, I had given up even trying to figure it out after my food cravings started to match girl but other symptoms matched boy. Honestly, I had no idea going into today’s scan, lol. Neither did my husband. It was fun being so unsure because we simply got to be surprised. :)

So, Elizabeth is going to have a little sister! Awww, I can hardly stand the cuteness of the thought!

The baby was measuring a bit ahead of schedule at 18w6d instead of 18w2d, which is how far along I am currently. Otherwise, everything was just perfect, no heath concerns. The only thing that the ultrasound showed that we will need a follow-up on is the placenta because it is not only anterior (in the front) but also very low, near the cervix, so I will have a repeat scan at 28 weeks to see if it has moved up and out of the way or not.

Anyway, there you go! We are super excited about the little sweetheart who is on her way this January! ♥ Now, to find the perfect name….

  1. My little boys are best buds…most of the time. (Jacob will be 1 Wednesday, and Caleb will be 3 on 10/2) I’m sure your girls will be too, since they’ll be even closer in age. :)

    1. Thanks! I’m going to love seeing them grow up together. ^_^ Yep, we have kept all the kids’ clothes over the years so we’ve just gone through all the boys’ stuff over the weekend and donated a ton now that we know we won’t use it again.
